Yes, those are the ones i bought also (One a day with fish oil) since my RE isn't going to prescribe prenatals. They say any vits are fine, even flinstones! I'm just trying to take in lots of water, and fiber. In fact, I have begun eating super healthy this whole week! I'm loading up on all things folic, and calcium too. And I am also taking an extra calcium supplement because the One A Day is low on that.
I found Prenatal vitamins from One-A-Day and it has two pills. One is for the vitamin part with folic acid and the other is the Omega 3 (from fish oil) with DHA. It's a 30 day supply for about $10. It seemed comparable to others. I'm not pregnant, but obviously taking them in preparation! :)
here in Canada, we get a prescription prenatal called PregVit and it comes in 2 pills; one that you take in the morning and the other one at night... it's supposed to be better for calcium and iron absorbtion (and constipation too)
good luck
I take Select-OB. I was given tons of samples from my DR and it was my favorite. They are chewables and taste like berries. Some of the other ones made my mouth taste bad if I burped (tmi) but not these ones.
Just weighing in. I take PrimaCare One. I really like them...can take on an empty stomach & they don't make me feel sick. ;o)
I take the Stuart Duet w/DHA. It is a little $$ and my ins doesn't pay for them. About $1/day.
I don't know that much about DHA, do yall know how important it is during pregnancy?
Maybe my OB prescribes cheapo vitamins...lol. But the ingredients and amount of each is exactly the same in my prescription vitamins as in the Target brand. I asked my MD about generic vitamins, and he said that in most cases they are exactly the same and are often manufactured by the same companies as the name brands. :-)

My first pregnancy I was prescribed PrimaCare One. This pregnancy they have a new PrimaCare One with DHA & EPA, plus added stool softener. Your OBs office will give you tons of samples if you ask, otherwise your insurance (depending what kind you have) should pick up the bulk of the cost. I know a lot of women buy over the counter brands, but the ones prescribed by your OBs office are much better and contain the maximum nutrients you and your baby need.
I take this two step vitamin with DHA being a second step, CVS brand. No stool softener though. I think to get a stool softener you need prescription vitamins.
I just take Target brand...I got the expensive prescription ones my MD prescribed and compared the ingredients and they're exactly the same. Target brand was $6 for 200. LOL. As for the stool softener...I know they're safe to take. I don't think the brand matters.
