progesterone side effects

I posted this yesterday in Maternal & Children but thought I should ask you ladies as well....I did test this morning and BFN but I have never had a positive on less than day 28 so I knew testing this morning would be worthless (day 27) - I plan to try again Sunday and then Tuesday before stopping the progesterone if I don't get a positive.

I've been on progesterone suppositories since 3 dpo and the last few days have been feeling really cruddy....bbs are sore, nausea on and off, bloated feeling....I know these can be from progesterone or pg.  BUT, I've also got the sensitivity to smell really bad lately....went to the grocery store to find something for lunch yesterday and was so turned off by the smell in the deli!  I also have no clue what I want to eat....nothing sounds appealing....not hot, not cold, not crunchy, not sweet....well, maybe sweet.  Yesterday the only thing that sounded good for lunch was an ice cream sandwich!  I didn't have one though...

So.....what do you think??  Progesterone side effects or could this be it?  I was on progesterone w/DD but we got pg the first month trying (after 4 mc) so I don't have a reference point of progesterone w/o pregnancy.

Hi Everyone, I was put on prometrium 200mg. Took it for the 12 days at night, no side effects. Took about 1 1/2 weeks to get period. I had it for the normal 5 days, had fun with the hubby and noticed sunday my boobs have had random sharp pains and feel heavy at times. I have also had some random cramping but not like my breasts hurting. It sometimes hurts just standing with arms down at my side. Was wondering if anyone else has had these symptoms and if it's a side effect from the medication. Thank you.

well........it is a BFP!!!!!!!!!!!  I had myself convinced that it wouldn't be and so did not expect to see the word Pregnant without the word NOT in front of it on that little stick this morning!!!  Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!  Now I just hope and pray that the same combination of meds that kept my DD in place will keep this baby in place for a nice cozy 9 months!!!

This last month I was super super tired in the afternoon, just like when I'm pregnant (never been pg on supp.'s)  Also nipple were sore for a bit, but that could have been the HCG shot instead. I got a bad headache that lasted about 4 days!  Heart burn a little too, but not bad.  & FINALLY, a bit bloated.......then again that could have been the meds I was on this month too!
So really 1) sleepy 2)headache 3) heart burn...........all of which I get pg......confusing! :)

The only side effect I had with progesterone was sore breasts.  But they were just mildly tender, not sore like pregnancy.  At least not sore like they were this pregnancy.  Good luck on your test, I hope it's a BFP!!!!

Good Luck to you!  I asked my dr. about some side effects when I was on Progesterone and he laughed and said, NO! About the only thing the progesterone will do is make you hungrier. Hope you get your BFP!!
