Recent Miscarrage

Hi I am a 35 woman who just miscarried at 15 weeks. I had no signs no cramping and no pain.
I felt like I had to go to the bathroom badly. I got up and as I started to walk I am assuming my water
broke alot of fluid rushed out. With in a half an hour the baby and the placenta had passed. No need for a D&C. My doctor said I have what is known as cervical incompetence. Question 1 is this normal? (No Pain or sign?) Question 2 If it is cervical incompetence what are my chances of carrying a baby to term if they stitch my cervix?

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.

yes you can have a successful pg after the stitch, my sil has the same issue and had a successful pg (girlnow 13) and then lost a baby while i was pg with Jett.  she was to get the stitch the next day and had sex and lost her baby b/c you can't have sex with the stitch so she was trying to satify bf as much as she could b4 the stitch.  just a warning for the future,  i would hate to see this happen to anyone else...god bless ~d

hi there is nothing anybody can say to make this period of your life any better. i have had 5 miscarriages ranging fom 5 weeks to 19 weeks. i have had all the tests and their is no medical reason why i lost my babies. all i can say is would you regret it if you did not try again if you think you will, go for it. give yourself emotional and physical time so you can deal with the pregnancy and look after your future little you. i'm 37 and have just started clomid and i am seriously trying to keep my emotions in check. as you get all the early pregnancy symptoms as side effects.
my thoughts are with and stat strong as there may a little one waiting for you.

I am so so sorry about your loss.  The good news is it sounds like you should be able to carry to term next time now that they know what you have.  According to website I found (link below) incompetent cervix isn't found until it's too late because doctors don't check for it unless there's a reason to believe you could have one.   Take care and best of luck to you.

First of all, I'm so sorry for your loss.  I had a miscarriage last year at 12 weeks (blighted ovum).  It's devastating.

One of my girlfriends lost her first pregnancy due to an incompetent cervix.  Apparently no one knows they have it until it's too late.

My friend had her cervix stitched early in her next pregnancies and now has 2 healthy, beautiful kids.  She was unable to work through most of her pregnancy and had to get a lot of rest.  But she was ok after the stitch was put in.  I pray the same will happen for you.

Wishing you all the best!
