am i in early stages of labour

i am 37 weeks pregnant and for the past week i have been having lots of braxton hicks, really painful, losing my mucous plug, alot more dischage, lower backpain and diarhea. The past 2 days have been way more intense with hardly any sleep due to the lower back pain and cramping. All day my back has been in so much pain nothing will make it go away, but with it has also been cramping that starts from the back and moves around to the front, there is so much pressure down there aswell. It feels as though i have my period or something. is this early stages of labour?, my baby is also facing back to back (prosterior) if this helps? and she is engaged.

What if you go to your doctor's or the hospital and have them check for dilation ? Good luck - if it is labour - I wish you a speedy birth !

Good Luck! If nothing else, you'll probably be dialated at your next check-up.

Sounds like the start of labor to me! Keep an eye on them, if it gets to the point where you can't talk then it is time to go to the hospital! I had horrible back labor and mine was just like what you are describing!

Hang in there! You are so close!

The back to front pain signals real contractions, not BH. Have you began timing the contractions? The baby is supposed to be facing your back. If not, the skull presses against your spine and it is very painful.

It could be, I was having Braxton Hicks for a few weeks before my daughter came (although she was induced one week earlier). Go to your doctor and ask him/her to check your cervix. Good luck!

Back pain was my biggest sign that labor was coming with my last baby.  I walked around all evening at our town's carnival and my back was killing!  My mom said, I bet you have that baby tonight or tomorrow, and she was right, went in the next morning and had him that evening.  Good luck!

COuld well be labor starting.... or things getting ready.  When is your next checkup?  HEard it can be more painful if baby is facing back.
Best wishes. It will be over soon.
