Definitely with a C. Unique spellings can get annoying as you get older because you have to constantly correct people.  That's just me though.

Carter. If his middle name is gonna be unique then the first name should have a more traditional spelling. That way when he gets older he can choose whether he wants to be different or traditional.

I really like Karter. that's really cute! My middle son's first name was Mekhi. u don't here it too often but i think that its beautiful!
