spotting
Help! I saw brown spotting when i went to the bathroom just now! Is this a miscarriage or am I being overly nervous?
Spotting is so scary when we are pregnant, but lots of women get it. Most of the time, no big deal. If it just stays light spotting, give your OB a call tomorrow. If it gets really heavy, such as a pad an hour, go to emergency.
It definately does not necessarily mean you are beginning to miscarry. I spotted and even outright bled with my son, and all is fine. It can be an irritated cervix (especially if you had sex last night) and a tonne of other reasons, not necessarily bad.
It is never considered normal though (even though about 30% of women have some), so do report it to your OB. I'm sure all is fine. And don't worry about being overly nervous...we all are when we are pregnant, and especially see some bleeding!
