I didn't have preeclampsia.  My sky rocketing blood pressure was due to pain.once they managed my pain my blood pressure dropped to normal.... For a while.  It turns out that while i never progressed past 2.5 cm my body was doing very very hard and very closely spaced contractions.... To the rate of 5 in 5 mins for more than 3 hours.   As time went on my baby heart rate deselertated to dangerous levels.  Every contraction and his heart rate went down until for nearly 3 mins it looked like it was going to stop all.togeather.  medicine to slow down and space out the contractions was totally ineffective. The nurses prepped me for an emergency cesarean and off I went.  I didn't want a cesarean but i had no choice.  I wanted to be out cold but there wasn't time.  It looks like he may be ok despite his rough start.  We only realized that part of my lack of progress was his size. 9 lbs 1 oz, and i have very narrow hips.  He was.stuck in.the birth cannal and.wasnt going to get through.  The dr had a tough time backint him up out of my pelvis but hes ok and for the first time my husband and i are parents!!

Youll be okay...stay positive if u can, walk around to get things moving faster. If u have a csection, they wont start unless ur completely numb so if it doesnt work, youll be put under all the way. Good luck keep us updated!!!

Two methods of cervical ripening have now failed totally.  No contractions, no dilation.  My dr is going ahead with pitocin (sp?) and no dilation.  Im now officialy freaking out.  Im afraid of cesareans and that i wont be.numb from either an epidural or.anything topical because im littetly imunune
