I'm glad you went and had it checked. Always best to be safe. I get those every once in a while as well and it sounds like Braxton Hicks. I will admit, it freaks me out a bit everytime it happens, even though I now recognize them. We are soooo close now, these babies just need to keep baking a bit longer!! Glad all is well.
Im glad you were checked too! Thanks for the update.
I did get the shot and the doctor's office sent me to L&D (which really scared me but I guess is protocol since they can't really 'fit' people in to the schedule). I was there for about 3 hours but all is well with the baby and me. I'm not leaking amniotic fluid, my cervix is closed and long, so there are no activity restrictions at this time! They don't have any good explanation for the cramps, but said that I had only a few contractions in the entire time that I was hooked up to the monitor, so it's not preterm labor. I'm tired now, but very relieved that I had it checked into!
hopefully you went in for your shot and the office checked you out. i am assuming you got the shot from you OB? i have been cramping and feeling pelvic preasure since 23 weeks. i then found out i have a short cervix. i have been on bedrest ever since. i am like you ...on going cramping with no contractions. it is still considered preterm labor symptoms, i take turbutaline/breathine every 4-6 hours around the clock for the cramping.
mind you...my son a year ago was born prematurely and i was contracting and hospitalized for preterm labor. so my advice to you is always get checked out...regardless of thinking it could be from sex or not. definately keep us posted and i hope you feel better!
Lots of things it could be. Certainly if you ever notice 4 or more "episodes" in an hour you should either call your doctor immediately or head to L&D in the event you are having contractions (even if they are Braxton Hicks contractions). Since this happened after sex and the feeling changes when you move it might be something like a pulled muscle/ligament etc.
Definitely ask someone about this when you go in for your shot and keep us posted.
Take care.
No pattern, really. No tightening. Just an overall cramp-y feeling. There's no episodes to really count so I can't say how 'many' an hour. The feeling will change as I move, so it's hard to even say how long it's lasting...
Not much help was I? Thanks for posting... :)
I'm going for an H1N1 vaccine today so I'm hoping that I can ask someone once I am there...we'll see!
opps! Forgot to add that anytime you have concerns you should always call your doctor. You can let them know what is going on and they will let you know whether its something that requires you to come in. Dont forget that you are paying your doctor for their services - they are your employee.
Have you noticed any pattern to the cramping? How long does it last? Any tightening of all or part of your abdomen when this happens? Approximately how many of these episodes do you think you are getting in an hour timeframe?
