37yo with positive hpt last week now bleeding

I am 37 and I took a hpt 5 days ago  and it was positive. Yesterday I started having light cramping that felt like menstrual cramps. This morning I started spotting brownish discharge and by this evening I have a what looks like a normal period with light cramping. Could this be a miscarriage or could it just be the start of perimenopause?

Sorry but it seems like a miscarriage to me :-( Go see your ob-gyn quickly to see exactly what's going on!

I found out I was pregnant with #1 5 days before my period was due. about 2 weeks later I had heavy bleeding that soaked through my shorts and I thought for sure I was having a miscariage. I rushed to the Dr. who gave me an ultasound and told me everything was fine...that it was probably just implantation bleeding. Sure enough I had a perfectly normal pregnancy from then on
