6w1d ultrasound worried!!!

Hello, I am worried....please help if you know the correct answer. I had my first trans-fag u/s today and they saw everything including fetal pole which measured 3.8 mm and they also saw the yolk sac and everything seemed correct for the exact time of pregnancy....but no fetal heart rate. I am worried because some women do see one at this point and I am 42 and had IVF, does anyone out there know when is the most common time to see the heart rate? I have been told to come back next week....but for now, and with a very difficult history regarding 6 miscarriages many years ago...I am concerned! Help please, I would appreciate any advice!
Thanks

My 6 week u/s is coming up. Very nervous but trying not to worry. Everyone seems to hear and see something different, so I have no idea what to expect. Just trying to enjoy my BFP for now!

The heart begins to beat in the chest at 28days of life... My thoughts and prayers for a good outcome are with you.

Hi -
I had the exact same situtation.  I went in at 6w1day for u/s and they couldn't see the heartbeat.  They didn't mention the fetal pole and I was too nervous and I forgot to ask.  Now i have to wait 10 more days for another u/s.

How did yours turn out?  Best wishes!

6 weeks is really early to see a heart beat.  At that point the heart is only 2 -3 days old and very hard to detect.  My doc said not to expect to see the heart beat any sooner than 8 weeks - congrats

gigi is right. You only get to see the heartbeat at about 8 weeks. Whats important at 6 weeks is to see the fetal pole and sac. I didnt see the heartbeat till 8 weeks and I saw the sac and pole at 6 weeks .

dont worry it was probably just to early, at my 6 week ultrasound my gestational sac was measuring 6 weeks 5 days and there was no fetal pole or heart beat, i went back at 8 weeks and i saw my baby moving and saw and heard her hearbeat.

im currentley 22 weeks whith my first baby girl and she is healthy and growing well.

you will probably hear your babys heartbeat on your next u/s.

Good luck
