Advice, words of encouragement, prayers I'll take them all

I'm almost 13 weeks with my second child and this isn't going as I expected. My first pregnancy went smoothly. I don't recall any pain or problems other than having to get some dental work done. That was 10 years ago and this pregnancy is already completely different. I have suffered with severe constipation since about week 7. I take collace but that isn't doing the trick. Anyone use magnesium citrate? Also I was diagnosed with symphosis pubis dysfunction after a trip to the emergency room with horrific pelvic pain. So now I'm wearing a brace and taking ibuprofen such is helping somewhat but I'm still in constant pain. I pray things get better because all this is making me depressed. I'm not sure I can take 27   more weeks of this :(

Prune juice, fresh leafy greens, Benefiber, lots of water...all these are good for constipation. Be careful about how much ibuprofen you take, though. A little is fine but talk to your health care provider about its safety during pregnancy versus you being in pain. I was told I was okay to take certain narcotics when I had kidney stones in my 12th week.
Hopefully things turn around so you can enjoy your pregnancy. It stinks being in chronic pain while pregnant, I know this firsthand. The only positive is, you get a wonderful gift at the end of it all. Take care & good luck with everything.

Try eating raisin bran!  I've been pretty  constipated as well since before I got pregnant, and its only gotten worse, but  since I've been eating raisin bran for about a week, I've actually been more regular these last few days.  Just a suggestion..  I hope u feel better..
