thanks everyone! I had the titre drawn and it shows that I have never been exposed to it. So if my kid gets it then I might as well also. So far he has not gotten it, but over this weekend I started feeling achey, fluey, and need to take tylenol to help me feel better. I'm not running a fever. Am going for a NST on Monday (unrelated) but will plan on calling my OB to update her about my weekend of feeling like I'm coming down with something.
Thanks again for the responses!
I was exposed to it in the third trimester - I read a few things that said it was not much to worry about - but seeing the above posts... maybe I was mislead. Anyway - she was born early (preterm labor incompetent cervix) and she is fine... I would just call your OB.
Yes, I was exposed to fifth's disease while pregnant (2nd trimester). They ran blood tests and I did react to the virus while pregnant. My OB monitored me very closely during 3rd trimester and everything turned out fine. It was great because they did stress tests and ultrasounds every week so I got to see my little peanut about every five days. Good luck.
I was exposed to 5ths disease when I was pregnant with my baby girl last year. I did the same as rdh1981 and did the typical blood test. My results came back that I had been exposed and my antibodies were working. A second blood test showed that the disease didn't advance and the antibodies were stable.
my friend and I were both exposed to it in early pg because we are teachers and there was an outbreak I was immune to it she was not and had to have a gamut of tests run but in the end all was well ad we both had healthy baby girls
I was exposed to the 5th Diease when I was pregnant with my first! I notified my Ob and he ran a blood test, everything came back normal! He reassured me that many adults are immuned to it because we have pratically all be exposed to it and did not know! Call your ob to get a bloodtest that way you can stop worrying!
