Femara + HCG Trigger shot...anyone?

Had a good RE appt this morning.  I did not ovulate on femara 2.5, but 5mg seems to be doing the trick.  he did an ultrasound and there is one follie of about 19mm on the left side.  We went ahead and did an HCG trigger shot just to be sure that things got moving.

Anyone have any experience and or success with this combo?

What's also weird is that today is CD 14 and my CB Monitor is still registering low??  he didn't think it was such a big deal, but it just confuses me.  I had good amounts of EWCM yesterday, so I'm trying not to rely too heavily on the Monitor.

Thank you both for your feedback.

I went ahead and tested last night on the CB digital OPK and got a smiley face!  I was surprised!  So my surge was detected about 12 hours after the trigger.  And my monitor showed "peak" with the eggie this morning too.  So happy!!

We did our homework last night and will tonight as well.

Super sally - best of luck with your IUI!!!  SSBD!

I just did IUI on Wednesday (D14) after 5 mg of femara and trigger on Tuesday. I had 2 19 mm follicles when they did the trigger.  My obe said the follicle on the right was getting ready to rupture.   My obe does the iui about 24 hours after trigger.  IN our case it was about 26 hours after.  DH and i weren't able to BD before, but we did after.  I generally have a 28 day cycle so D14 is right when I should have ovulated.

Good luck!

You are welcome :) My understanding is you should test with the OPK every 12 hours...doing it every 24 you can miss the increase...

Thank you!

this will be timed intercourse with my husband.  RE's advice was that the trigger would induce ovulation within the next 48 hours, so BD'ing tonight and tomorrow night.

I agree about the monitor - I just don't get it??  I also have the CB digital OPK's, so maybe just to pee on yet another stick, I'll try those...purely out of curiousity.  it would sure be nice to see that peak eggie on the montior, though.

Thanks again for your response!!

I haven't had any experience with this but wanted to give you my best wishes :)

Are you TTC with a partner, doing IUI or? I do know you want the sperm to already be there when you ovulate so if you are having intercourse to TTC, I would start doing so every day...regardless of what the monitor says :)
