I'm 1 week 2 days post birth of my daughter & still bleeding...this normal?

Hey girls,
For all of you that have delivered already, were you still bleeding a week and some days after giving birth?  I know this is T.M.I but it's not bright red, kinda watery reddish brown..Is this normal?

Every woman and every pregnancy is different. I bled for 10 weeks after my first (probably due to the 14 hours of strong labor) and 5 weeks with my 2nd. Congratulations on your new baby daughter!!!

I had a normal vag delivery. I was having some clots right after being released from the hospital so the doctor put me on methergine just to be safe.  Since then the discharge has been very watery feeling.  I'm not soaking a pad an hour.  I can go at least 3 hours and I mostly like to change it cause I hate the feeling of the pads ;-(

Hi,
I can't remember if you were c-sec or vag? I'm still got 4 weeks to go but I remember with my first two (c-sec) that I bled for 2 weeks at least. With my last I was on a blood thinner though so that may have had an effect. I think the rule is how much, like if you're soaking a pad in an hour, but I'd say if it's worrying you call the doc (I know...standard answer :0))

How's it going overall? How are you feeling and adapting?

Christina
