Thank goodness baby is so well protected- I fell down some steps ...

I decided to get started on the  baby's room yesterday. I was coming down the upstairs steps with a few things in my hands - DUH- telling myself to be careful NOT to fall- and I twisted my ankle- yep ... and fell. I guess I went down about 5-6 steps. I HIT hard. I would say it was like being hit in ice hockey (which I play) HARD- ouch. The things I was carrying went flying down the steps and the dog came running. He started licking me like crazy- sweeetie! I immediately went and laid down on my left and drankwater- and called partner. I was pretty scared. Baby started kicking- and I started feeling better- no cramping bleeding. I hit my backside/hip area- but no bruise- but I have a HUGE one/swollen elbow. OUCH! Thank goodness the baby is so well protected and I didnt go FORWARD and hit my belly. It was really frightening ...

I dont know what it is but it seems that as soon as I hit 19 weeks- last week- I started feeling clumsy- I guess the "belly".

I feel like I need to start doing yoga or soemthing to help me with my balance.

Just wanted to post so everyone will be extra careful on steps- snow- ice-etc

Call your OB-gyn to see what he/she recommends. He/she may recommend an ultrasound or just some bed rest. Hopefully you'll be OK but never hesitate to call your doctor when in doubt!

I'm glad you & baby are ok. Aren't dogs the best?!? :) Did you get checked out by your ob anyway? Take care!
