To all pregnant women who have brown bleeding/discharge before they found out they were pregnant!!!

I really, badly need some help.  I am now going on 2 days late for the past 4-6 i've had brown discharge, i always get this before AF and i am always on a 28 day cycle and have been for months until this month, i took an HPT last night and it was negative i'm not testing again for another week or so if AF doesn't arrive

I would like to know for all the women who had brown discharge and found you were pregnant how long did the discharge last?  were your cramps during the 1st 4-6 weeks of pregnancy like AF a little sharp and in your back?  i'm usually in agony by now but though i'm getting a few cramps in my back i'm not getting many in my abdominal area.  I'm supposed to be going for a laparoscopy on the 14th April so would really like to know what my bodies playing at.

I had brownish discharge for 2 days with this pg and my first, although this was not normal for me. I also had cramps but not nearly as bad as normal and they never got any worse....i was expecting my period for about a week, and got the +ve reslt on the hpt...I hope you're in luck!!!

Hi Gillian,

There are many reasons for a missed/late period and pregnancy is only one of them. Stress and other 'life' things can cause it to not show on time.  I would wait a week or so and if you period doesn't show up then I would test again.

thanks guys no i haven't had iui or ivf, i normally get the discharge before af but i'm always a 28 day cycle and my cramps aren't as bad as normal, i'm hoping this sticks

I had brown discharge...started out kind of stringy, then became more of a jelly-ish consistency. (Sorry if TMI.) It lasted for about the first six weeks. I also had the sharp pains in my back...almost like a small spasm in my lower back. That lasted for about six weeks, also. I had kind of a pulling sensation in my lower abdomen, also. Not sure what that was, but I haven't felt it since! If you are truly concerned, go have a blood test. By two days late, you SHOULD have a positive HPT. But a blood test would tell for sure. I had brown discharge after I did my IVF.  I had it for about 3-4 days prior to being confirmed pregnant.  Did you do an IUI/IVF?
