I had my 5th m/c a few weeks ago - DNC on 9/3. 4 before DD was born and this was our first attempt at baby #2. I found out today that my hcg is back to zero so AF can arrive any time now (I'm feeling crampy w/backache today, Thurs will be 4 weeks since DNC). I also found out that the testing they did didn't show anything exciting - 46XX, normal female kareotyping. So, nothing new and exciting there. Most likely not enough tissue to detect anything from baby, was probably me that is showing. My DD (I'm starting to wonder how we got blessed enough for her to stick!!) will be 16 months soon and I really want to start trying again as soon as AF arrives. The nurse at my RE's office today asked if we were going to try again with same meds as before or if we wanted to look into adding clomid or something else like that. I tried clomid 1 round in January 2007 and had a 24 day cycle and got huge cysts on both ovaries and no luck. She mentioned that my losses could all really be just from old(er) eggs....even though I've been having m/c since I was 33 and not techinically AMA then. Although, I feel older than I am, maybe my eggs are too! So I think I'm leaning towards trying clomid so we have the best possible scenario going on for the next attempt because I'm not sure how many more attempts there will be. DH and I talked and know we are good for 1 more try, but are up in the air as to what happens after that. I hope and pray we don't have to figure that out. I just can't say right now that 1 more attempt is all I have in me but I also can't say it isn't.
Has anyone tried clomid for recurrent mc and had luck? I O on my own now (even though I have PCOS) and manage to get pg very easily on my own (1st try several times). I know clomid can help with quality and progesterone, etc and we'd also be monitored much more closely. I'm just torn as to what to do to make this next try the best possible scenario.
Any words of wisdom??
