Oh yeah! I totally forgot about swimming! It feels great, your weightless and it's amazing. I did massage but be careful, I had one when I had bad sciatic pain and she used too much pressure, I thought I was gonna die afterwards. I had one recently with sciatic pain and it relaxed me but did not help at all with pain. I'm sure the prenatal type of massage makes a difference. I've gotten better results with chiropractic and physical therapy than massage personally. I'd save the massage for when you really just want to relax and can enjoy it afterwards. I hope it's gotten better! I know how miserable it can be :/
A professional therapeutic massage could probably help.
I would LIVE in the pool if I could. It is seriously my single fav place lately, it keeps me cool and weightless... ++ in my book.
Swimming is soooooo helpful. Takes all the pressure off your body. Yoga & stretching help a lot too.
I totally agree! I got my 1st sciatic nerve pain at 25 weeks & I'm 32 weeks now. ICE, ICE, ICE! Ice will help tremendously. I also went to the chiropractor weekly. Walking is helpful just take smaller steps & don't stick your butt out when you walk. :) Keep that puppy kinda tucked in & comfortable to reduce strain. When you sit, I suggest having a good lumbar support to help you keep better posture & DON'T cross you legs when you sit. I had a horrible habit of doing that until I realized it made pain much worse. One position that I found comfortable was to lean forward over a table or desk & let my head dangle. I would gently sway side to side. It just gave me a little relief after sitting.
Good luck! I hope you find relief soon!
If you can try to look for some yoga for pregnancy or pilates classes. Im doing pilates and its amazing how much it helps me.
Thanks so much... walikng is a challenge, but I almost cant stand the idea of being sedentary even more.... I will try walking and ice..
Anytime I walked I followed up with 15-20 min of ice, that helped a lot
Ice, lots of ice. And as long as you don't have back spasms when you walk, then walk at least 15-20 min once or twice a day. I just went through this and after sitting/laying around in pain I made my self walk and even though it hurts it helped release some of the tightness in my back. I also contacted my doctor and went to physical therapy and they gave me some exercises to do. I'm all better after two weeks in pain :)
