sleepy/numb hand

Don't know if anyone else is experiencing this but I'm about 35 weeks 3 days and my right hand goes numb.  I've read before that sometimes due to swelling, which is currently happening to me - if you could only see my flinstone feet:(, your hand may go to sleep/numb, it sometimes feels like when you hit your funny bone, it goes away but it's annoying as hell, especially when I'm alseep, it wakes me up!  I have a dr. appt on this coming monday so I will definitely let her know as well.  Just wonder if anyone else is experiencing this.

I was laid up in hospital with my son.  I was 28 weeks pregnant and experiencing this even sitting up.  When I mentioned it to the doctor and all the young students behind him. He smiled and laughed saying, "Now here's a case of new Mom carpoltunnel syndrome or (he said the layman's term but I forget it)." He explained it is from your swelling and a nerves under your arm having pressure on them and that I shouldn't worry unless it continues more then 6 months after birth.  But it should stop after delivery.

Hello!

I had this with my last pregnancy and I had pregnancy induced carpal tunnel. I had to get the wrist guards and that did help a lot. :)

ya I need to shake my hands around to get some blood to it but I did a google search on it and found this out as well: numbness in your hands and fingers during pregnancy is most likely caused by carpal tunnel syndrome. It is a condition associated with swelling and weight gain during pregnancy, where the main nerve in the wrist becomes compressed. - I have started to swell lately, like the past month or so my Dr. told me not to worry about it, it is normal.   I do drink lots of liquids, sometimes more then a gallon a day, mostly water but she said that is fine.
And my job is all about typing on a keyboard.  I guess I might need one of those wrist things but I'll let you know what the Dr. tells to me:).

My hand used to go numb in my sleep.  I assumed it was from sleeping on my back.  When I would change positions it would go away.
