i had it done with my last baby, it didnt hurt because i wanted it so bad. i was 39 weeks and 1 day...so 6 days before i was due my dr. did it. i started to cramp right away, little ones for hours. the dr told me to come to the hospital at 8pm that night so she could break my water and i had my baby boy a few hours later. he was 9 pounds and 15 oz. I'm glad she did it when she did or he could have been well over 10 pounds. i didnt need any pitocin it just happened on its own after she broke my water. so stripping membranes def worked for me :)
I don't know a thing about this, but wanted to say good luck!! I cannot wait to see pics of that little baby...I remember how these last few weeks felt longer then the whole rest of the pregnancy. All you want is to hold that little one. Hang in there, your almost there....
Thank you every one.. Just wanted to put if out there and see what every one has to say about it. Just incase my doc offers it to me within the next few weeks I wanted to be prepared. :)
I had it done twice. The first time I was 3 days overdue and the second time I was 7 days overdue. Both times I thought it was extrememly painful. I went into labor the night of the 2nd one-don't know if it was because I was so overdue or if it was because of the stripping. Either way, I wouldn't want to do it again.
I had it done with my first son at 38 weeks and it did nothing but give me a few cramps. Did it again at 39 weeks and was in labor two hours later. Not sure if it was the membrane sweep or he was just ready, though.
Hi! I assume you are reffering to stripping the membranes? I had it done with my son because he was late but it didn't do a thing. Of course every person is affected differently and from experience, I can say that my body does not want to go into labor as a rule. LOL. I was induced with all 3 previous pregnancies.
