Also keep in mind that a due date is only an estimate of when your going into labor. The longer the baby is in... The better

PP is right. You will dilate when your body is ready. Remember,  stress and anxiety can work against you. Try to relax as much as possible.

Your not dilated yet, because your body isn't ready for Labour :) When your your brain chemicals sends signals (hormones) to your body then, only then labor is ready. Until then your body and your baby both are still not ready! I know that's kind of discouraging!! But think of it this way, your baby is getting more time to gain weight, strengthen his/her lungs and growing a bit more!! Yah!! You also have time to finish getting done any needed chores, errands etc. You have time to make love with your partner (if available)! Spend one on one time with friends and family. These things will change after your precious bundle of joy is born!! Give it time, your body will let you know when it's ready, and labor is a funny thing. Today you could be dilated none and tomorrow 1,2 3+ cm!!!! Have faith!!!! Best of wishes!!!
