work!

Hi, when do you start to work a reduced work schedule? I'm 30 weeks but my lower back and hips are killing me. I'm going to be induced at 39 weeks so just wondered when I can ask for this

I went to 4 hour days at 34 weeks & then started my leave at 38 weeks. My little one didn't arrive until 40 weeks 4 days, but it was nice to have time to myself to rest & get things in order.

I had to reduce to 20 hour work weeks with my last pregnancy. My job just counted up the hours and put it towards my FMLA. Your doctor will have to fill out the paperwork and give a reason for you reducing your hours (usually that's not too hard). Good luck!

I'm not going to be returning to work, however my job doesn't know is this yet as I'm afraid they won't keep me until my leave starts. So if I went on like a reduced work schedule around 34 weeks will that still count on FMLA? I work 8hr days and would like to drop to 5-6hr days

U can ask to take leave, but that counts against 12 wk FMLA leave if ur in the US and will need to return to work sooner than later if u choose to take leave early.  otherwise Ur job may make other arrangements and not guarantee to hold ur current position.  I would stick it thru as long as u can if I were u.  Unless u don't need to return to work, then that's another story..
