Thanks for your response. I was 16dpo when my hcg level was 1540 and 18dpo when it was 1873. So I will go back Monday and take another hcg level. I am concerned with how many pups are in there because these are high numbers. I will post results. My porgestrogen level is 22 and my estogen is 884. So I am fine with that. Just to hear you had brown discharge is very comforting. Thanks

I had lots of cramping and brown discharge, actually... full on bleeding, and clots and tissue!  This was around 13 dpo.  I had extremely bad back pain too.

Turns out it was nothing!  Or, at least it didn't effect the baby! I'm 5 months along now. My HCG didn't quite double at first either, and you are very early on, so all might be well. Actually, if your first HCG leve was 1540, and I hate to scare you, but that's very high.  You could very well have twins or triplets with that number.  If your number isn't rising normally but still rising, it could be that one of the babies stopped developing but the other could be fine.  I got pregnant with twins on my first clomid round 4 years ago, and that happened to me.  My HCG was only 350 on day 15 dpo, so 1540 is a good indication there might be more than one in there!  Depends on what dpo it was when you got the first test...

My beta numbers are crazy too. I was on clomid for 5 days and on May 25 ovulated and had IUI and HCG shot on 5/27/08. My first hcg level on June 10 was 1540 and now on June 12 it is 1840. The doctor is concerned because my numbers are so high but also not rising correctly. I am also having some brownish discharge and cramping. Any body out there have any suggestions. My next beta is on Monday.

At 6 weeks they only saw a sac with me with no baby inside, but Doc told me it was okay, just perhaps a littl early. The next week I saw a baby and a heartbeat, and I have a big fat kicking little boy in my belly now at 5 months! :)

Did they see a fetal pole, by 6 weeks they should have seen it.  Did they tell you if they saw a fetal pole or not?

Everything looks ok to me.  Your betas have been going up, doubling or more than doubling, since that first set of them, so thats good.  And 6 weeks is awfully early to see anything.  Once they repeat the u/s they will be able to tell for sure, as they will be looking for the appropriate amount of growth.  I have heard stories like this soooo many times, and most of the time everything is just fine.  These little babies all seem to do things at there own pace.  I also know from what my OB said, that it is not uncommon to not see a h/b until 6 1/2 to 7 weeks.  Your in that time frame now where growth should happen rapidly, and its amazing what a couple of days can do.  Best of luck to you.
