It's a natural prostaglandins, which is what your body starts to make on its own to help labor and delivery. You can take orally and insert vaginally to help soften and ripen your cervix. You can also drink red raspberry leaf tea to help tone the uterus. It won't start labor but can help shorten it.

I have a question because i was also wondering about this, is the pill that you take orally can also go down there or is it another pill especially for down there, i was interested because im 38 weeks and seem to not make any progress and i would like to experience labor instead of being induced like i was with my daughter

I used it with my last son and plan on using it again I can't say that it worked as I was induced at 37 weeks because of complications but I took two and inserted one

It can be used from 35 weeks on.  Vaginal insertion at night before bed, wear a pantyliner.  It helps soften the cervix making dilation and effacement easier.  Does not start labor, just helps get things ready for when it does.

I used it with my second. Just put a pill up there every night after I gift 37 weeks. Not sure if it helped, but I was three days early and didn't tear. My sister used it very diligently and delivered a surprise breech baby with no meds, no tears. Not sure if experiences are what you were looking for, but the last few weeks of pregnancy crawl by, so I'm always willing to try anything. I don't think you are supposed to use it before you are full term though.
