I think you should call your doctor ASAP, but some women, just have more sensitive uteran linings, and the bleeding means nothing.
Good Luck,
Lisa
Hello and congratulations on your pregnancy! Don't worry, having a pap smear during pregnancy is very common and perfectly safe. Also, bleeding after a pap is very common, due to the scraping of the cervix. I always have spotting afterwards. If you continue to bleed or can see you are losing more blood than minor spotting, you should contact your doctor immediately! Best wishes for a healthy pregnancy!
Hello,
Congratulations on your pregnancy! Yes, having a pap smear during pregnancy is very common and most doctors will order one if they're a new doctor for you and/or you haven't had a pap smear in a while.
Do you usually spot or bleed after a pap smear? I don't, so I would probably call my doctor and let her/him know.
It's not uncommon to spot after a miscarriage. And if your pregnant, your cervix is softer than normal, so its quite common. Also not unusual to do a pap during pregnancy. I'm sure all is fine, and good luck to you!!
Thanks sisters. This was the first time I did pap smear without any psychological preparation. So I was not feeling well both physically and psychologcial. I think the doctor did not explain to me about this and caused me so much worry.
I cannot approach my doctor by phone call and waiting for the next appointment. Still a bit worry, but thanks so much that you do comfort me a lot!
