I have a second related question. My OB/GYN did two U/S two weeks apart, which I thought was a bit much. How often are the doctors supposed to do bloodwork for over 35s?
Usually one or two ultrasounds are standard. One they may or may not do is an early scan to date the pregnancy. Usually if you know the date of your last period they don't do this one. The second is to check organ development.
Sometimes Doctors do more just to check on things but this is the standard for normal uncomplicated pregnancy. If you are over 35 they may do more because it is considered high risk but it isn't necessary if everything is going ok.
