Unexplained bruising and soreness of the legs

I am now 29 wks pregnant with my 2nd child.  and for the last like 3 months i have had this bruise on my leg that has stayed bright blue and sore. I did nothing to get this bruise, but thought maybe because of the location it might take longer to go away. So i ignored it..well now there are a total of 4, all on the same leg, 3 on my thigh and one on my calf.  Well the past couple nights i have been having horrible calf pain, not just on the side with the bruise, but the other leg as well. I am very concerned about this, and I do not go back to my OB until Monday. any help or suggestions would be great. Thank you.

I would strongly suggest that you call your OBGYN before your appointment on Monday.  There are some things that are quite sinister that can cause your symptoms so its best to have these ruled out.  Your doctor can advice you on whether it is appropriate to wait for your appointment on Monday.

I think anemia can cause easy bruising. You may need more iron.

I am not to sure as to why you are getting bruised but I do know that I too bruised very easy during pregnancy!! Are sure your hubby is not beating you in the bed! : )

I would imagine just like all the other crazy things our hormones do to us during pregnancy I am sure that is part of the reason again!

As for the leg cramps that is usually occurs when you do not get enough potassium in your diet. I had killer leg cramps in the last trimester. Try eating a banana or drinking some Gatorade, just be sure not to take potassium supplements this could be dangerous to your baby.

When you go back on Monday just mention everything to your OB, I am sure they will tell you everything is normal, but it always nice to hear it from them anyway!

Good luck you are almost there!
