cold medications?

Just wondering what your doctors or midwives have deemed as "safe" cold medications to take during pregnancy. My midwife gave me a list of meds that does include Tylenol, Tylenol Sinus and Tylenol PM, but what I'd like to take is Tylenol Cold/Congestion.

(Well, I'd rather not take anything but this miserable head cold is keeping me up all night... if I lie down, my sinuses immediately plug up...)

I'm doing all the natural remedies and they are working ok. Vicks Vaporub is amazing! But I'm tempted to take a dose of something just to move this along a bit. I'm bad at being sick!

Yes, my neti pot has been really helpful, thanks! Need to get more saline packets for it.

There are two class C drugs in the Tylenol medication I was going to take, so I'm definitely not taking it. Will just tough it out with natural remedies, and maybe take a plain Tylenol (which is class B) if I need to.

Thanks everyone :)

You might also try a netipot-I had a cold a few weeks ago and my acupunturist actually recommended it.  It does wonders to help clear out the sinus cavity.  You kind find it at any drugstore by all the cold remedies. Feel better!

Ok, I wish I had checked out that site when I had a bad cold early in this pregnancy.  All I took was regular tylenol.  Talk about being miserable.  Hope you feel better soon Ruby!!

Yes, don't suffer... there are more meds and safe OTC pain relievers compatible with pregnancy than we think.  Here is a website you can use to see what drugs/meds are safe.  Hope you feel better soon!

Don't let yourself suffer and take nothing!
There are lots that you CAN take (Sinus stuff, Robitusson, Tylonol, even the nightime flu/cold)
Feel better!
