You'll have to wait until closer to the 16th of June to take a hpt.  The spotting could've been implantation spotting since you had sex during the middle of your cycle.  You usually ovulate on cycle days 12-14 (cycle day 1 is the 1st day of your period) so if you had unprotected sex on cycle day 15, you could be pregnant.  The only way to know for sure is to take a hpt close to your expect day of your period.

It just depends on if you had a full period or did you spot on May 16th?  Did you have a full period on the 31st or just spot?  Just to be on the safe side you might want to go get a home pregnancy test to be sure.  Just an extra bit of info you normally ovulate 7 to 10 days after the last day of your period.
