Hi,

yes, ask your doctor.  I did check online though.

The current recommendation is that it is safe to take up to 1 month before becoming pregnant.

I also found something stating that if it is inadvertently given in very early pregnancy, the risk is considered very low and this is not considered reason to terminate a pregnancy. So most likely your baby should be fine.

Hope this helps.  But do ask your doctor.

I agree with what others have said, I would call your doctor soon and talk this over.  Rubella is a serious illness to have when pregnant as it is known to cause serious birth defects.  But keep in mind, that you only had the vaccine and not actual Rubella, so your exposure is much lower and things may be fine.  Your doctor will know best what the risk to the fetus may be. Best of luck to you.

The first thing I would do, I would call my doctor and told her about the problem or go straight to the hospital. If you can't call or visit your doctor immediately, go to the hospital and tell the gin there about your problem. Rubella is rather a serious issue, so go to the doctor or hospital. You will know if you need any medicine, if there are any dangers or everything is fine. I have no experience with rubella, that's why I recommend seeing the doctor right away as an emergency case.

Do you know if you were pregnant when you had the shot?  Maybe enough time had gone by (between the shot and the pregnancy) that it is not a problem.  Call your doc and see what he or she says.
