pregnancy

I'm 36 years ,have 2 boys ,pregnant in 6 weeks and had 2 previous miscarriage .I'm taking synthroid medication for the thyroid but my level is being adjusted  for 2.50 up to a year .My doctor told me that my pregnancy hormone is low and also my progestrone hormone is low 4.48 so she put me today on Prometrium and will draw a blood test next week to see the hormones level .I 'm afraid about the baby's condition (having abnormal baby )and also even if the hormones levels after a week become normal what if something wrong happened to his developpment before taking the Prometrium.I thought once i'll become pregnant i'll enjoy my pregnancy but all the feeling that I have right now is being worry all the time

Hi! I am 40 years old and will be 41 when i deliver. I also take synthroid for my throids and my levels have been low since i got pregnant but i continue to take my synthroid and all is well with the baby i have not had any problems with her. I have done all the necessary tests except amnio for abnormalities and the doct said my levels for any abnormalities were sooooooo low that i have nothing to worry about. He said i am carrying this baby like an 18 year old girl.

I've never had to take thyroid medication. But I have had 2 m/c's and am now currently almost 16 weeks pregnant.     I thought the exact same thing as you, that once I became pg, I would be ecstatic.   I even had CVS testing done and was told it was a healthy perfect baby, but did that relieve my worry.....Nope.    I still worry every single day, and I probably will for the rest of his life.    When we work so hard for this and have experienced loss, we understand how fragile life is and we completely cherish this moment, but with that heightened sense of what a miracle we have been given comes the worry. :).    Enjoy every moment and every day that they are with you.   Best of luck to you.

I think the hormones you are talking about have more affect on keeping the pregnancy, not really on normal/abnormal baby. I've read of many women who were able to correct or improve their hormone levels and went on to keep the pregnancy. Sounds like your doctor is monitoring everything closely as he should. Mama worry is normal, especially if you have health issues.I think we all have our worries and times during the pregnancy when we seem to worry more than other times.  Best of luck and ssbd to you!
