Anyone have a low lying placenta??? Need positive stories!

Hi ladies...2 weeks ago when I went for my 18 w ultrasound, the doctor told me I had a low lying placenta...almost touching the edge.  He didn't seem to concerned...I asked if I had any restrictions and he said no, and if I started bleeding to call my regular ob... BUT I wanted to be on the safe side so I stopped my aerobics and slowed down the bd'ing...we've done it like twice since the ultrasound.  WELL I went to my regular ob today and he didn't seem too concerned, he ordered another ultrasound at the same place with the high resolution equipment to make sure it 'resolved'...I'm still waiting to find out when it is (it will be in the next 4 weeks) BUT he said he'd hold off of intercourse until we have the ultrasound and know how things are.  He seemed very positive that a lot of women have low lying placentas earlier in pregnancy and they resolve themselves etc.  I just need to hear from other people if they went through this!  It is not previa...he made that clear...THANKS!

sweetangel7, at the 20 week ultrasound my placenta was low-lying as well. I have had two additional ultrasounds and the darn thing still hasn't moved enough. I am currently 34 weeks and the placenta is staying stubbornly right beside my cervix. It never covered my cervix, it was always right beside it. I read that getting preggers shortly after a D&C can cause this to happen. So, I figure with my miscarraige in March and then finding out I was preggers again in May that this is why it has stayed low. For most women it does move up, but I guess it is more difficult if there is scar tissue in there. I'm sure it will be fine though very few women who have a low-lying placenta still have one when it comes time for birth.

At 17 weeks I had partial placenta previa, but at 20 weeks the placenta was up and out of the way. As the uterus gets bigger it should pull the placenta away from the cervix. GOOD LUCK!!!

hi , they found out that my placenta was kind of low when i went for my 20 weeks checkup ...the doctor wasn’t concerned but she advised me not to carry heavy things or stand constantly for more than an hours...i followed the instructions but i used to have a very busy schedule since...anyway they scheduled for an ultrasound after 10 weeks which i went for when i was 28 weeks...everything was very normal and the placenta ascended exactly as the doctor predicted ,so don’t be scared she was like it's kind of common and it goes up after a month or two am 30 weeks and 3 days now and I don’t have any problem with it. of course seek their attention if you see anything abnormal like spotting.
One great thing is that you will get to see the baby again !

I have my fingers crossed for you that it's resolved!  I doubt there is anything to worry about since especially you and your man have had sex, and there is no bleeding!  That's an awesome sign!!!

I'm just on pins and needles!  When I left today they said they were going to call the other hospital and schedule my appointment for me (I don't know why they do this...) and then they said they would call me to let me know when it was.  I know it will be before my next appointment with my ob because he said he'd schedule me for a check up ultrasound and then we could discuss it at our next appointment.  Fingers crossed everything is 'resolved' or in the process of resolving!

I haven't had this, but my sil did.  She is still prego at the moment too.

They found out at 13 weeks hers was low.  At 20 weeks got diagnosed with placenta previa, and at 30 weeks, they checked her and it finally moved!

In some women, it takes longer to move up depends on where the baby implanted!  But as long as your not having any bleeding, I think you'll be fine and it'll be resolved by your next u/s
