Are progesterone levels an indicator

Are progesterone levels an indicator of pregnancy? I had a blood test yesterday to check my progesterone levels (we're trying to conceive) and the results came back with a number of 44.1. I'm not due to get my period til Sunday, although I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative.

No they aren't. Progesterone is production of your body to support a pregnancy but it is also the level that keeps your period away after ovulation. When your progesterone levels fall you start your period and if they stay the same or increase then that usually means that the progesterone is supporting a pregnancy. Definitely wait to see if your period starts on Sunday and if it doesn't take another home test. Good luck!

For what I know (I am no doctor), Progeterone levels are not indicators of pregnancy.  They are just harmones, which are required in normal levels for normal cycles/conception.
if you are low, you'll be prescribed with some supplements (up to wk-12 in you pregnancy)

Hope this helps
Good Luck
