Hey mama! I just wanted to say the epidural is awesome. I didnt see or feel it! I was focused on the contractions. And then all pain went away! I wasnt induced but millions of women are. Focus on meetng your beautiful baby. And best of luck to you :)
Thanx so much for the advice, support, and encouraging words. Praying he'll drop and I won't have any struggles, I'm so nervous! Please ladies pray for me!!!
I was positive for GBS with my son (only child I have) the doctorsstarted an IV as soon as I arrived at hospital in labor and my son was born prior to me getting all antibiotics. They made him stay in the NICU for 7 days with an IV of antibiotics. Hopefully if they give you antibiotics you can be labor long enough to receive full dose and baby will be fine. Good luck to you.
Things can literally change over night. Yesterday I went to l&d for contractions but got sent home because I was at a 2 for about a week, they said contractions were to irregular and was due to a possible uti. And she was still transverse. This morning I was awoken by strong contraction that were 3-7 minutes apart. That was at 4am got to the hospital at 650am got checked and was at a 7 , did a quick sonogram to check position and she turned head down ,delivered at 747 am no epidural no nothing. I got to admit I honestly didn't think I had it in me to do it!
I too was really scared of all of the needles and things but I really surprised myself with how brave I was. When it's for the health of your baby you can overcome anything :-)
I went through almost the exact same thing last week. I was gbs positive (first time, 3rd baby) & my waters broke friday night. I had to go straight on 4 hourly antibiotics, so had to go to the hospital every 4 hours until they admitted me at 7am Sunday. They started my induction at 8:40am & I'm very sorry to tell you but because bubs head was still very high it didn't work. They turned the drip off at 6pm Sunday night and let us rest for the night. We tried everything to get him to drop but it wasn't working. We decided on a c-section at lunchtime on Monday & went to theatre at 5:45 pm
I had an epidural with my first and I'm glad I did. I'm beyind scared of needles but I told them that and my dr didn't let me see it at all. But at least your getting induced finally!!

The great thing about the epidural is the fact that you do not have to see it. I'm also terrified of needles, but I'm not good with pain so I had the hub hold me, keep my back to what was going on so I couldn't see, and got the epidural. In four days I'll be doing it all over again! As four the much longer part, that isn't really true. I was also induced with my first, can't remember what time it was that they put the stuff in my iv, but I had my daughter by 4:30 the same day with zero complications. Pushing took maybe ten or fifteen minutes, all I had to wait for was to go from zero to ten. Every story is different!
