Evaporation vs. Faint line? How do you tell the difference?

I took a pregnancy test this morning and in the test window I could see a faint, clear, colorless line within 2 minutes. How can you tell if this is an evaporation line or faint positive? Is there always a clear line there that just turns a color if you are pregnant or does the colorless line not appear unless there is HCG? I wish I would have looked at the test closer before I used it! Also I have always had irregular periods so I just started the process of determining ovulation, but it has been 10 days since intercourse. Ahh any help would be hugely helpful! Thank you. Michelle

Mine looked the same.  I actually had that same type of line on two different tests. But AF came with a vengence this month. So I guess it was an evap line.
Someone told me that if it is colorless or gray it is probably an evap line, if it is pink then it is a positive. So I guess try again in a few days and see if the line gets some color on it.

Could be a faint positive or it could be an evap line. If you read it in the time limit though I doubt that it is an evap line. Like Heather said the best thing to do would be to go get a digital and take it in the morning or try to hold your pee for hours (like as if you were sleeping) and take it later today. Good luck I hope you get your BFP! :)

I had this same question when I found out I was pregnant.  I thought I saw a negative then looked later and saw a very faint positive.  Best advice given to me was to go out and buy a digital test, and test with your first morning urine.  Pregnant or not pregnant... no mistaking that =)
Good luck hope you get your positive!!!
