I was asking this because, I had sex exactly one week before i took a test and it read positive. wondering if its from the week ago or other times before that. my perios was due around the time i had sex a week before my test. (Period due 25th april had sex 24th april, tested 1st may) would hopefully say i got pregnant from the time before and not the guy a week before testing. ;/

Like Connie said, it's recommended that you wait at least 2 weeks after sex if you don't know when you ovulated or when your period is due. However, if you know when to expect your period you can test anywhere from 6 days early to 6 days late (some women show Positives earlier or later).

I think it is usually 2 weeks.  Everyone is a little different as to how quickly your body produces the hormone that triggers the test.
