Iron Supplement

So my doctor told me yesterday at my prenatal appointment that my iron is on the low side. So she recommended taking an iron supplement.

This is new to me cause I've never been iron deficient before. Not even when I was pregnant with my son 7 years ago.

My question is....Can you take the prenatal vitamin and the iron supplement at the same time? Or should I space them out a bit?

Thanks for your input ladies :)

Yeah I've been taking with a meal. I don't know if they make me nauseous on their own, but didn't want to take that chance, so I just take with food.

I've been spreading them out though. The prenatal I'm taking now, I have to take twice a day because the dosage is half of what it should be. (The dosage says take 2 a day). So I take first prenatal in morning with breakfast, iron in afternoon with lunch, and last prenatal with a snack before bed.

Yea just double check with your ob.  I'm super anemic so I have to take iron on top of the iron in my prenatal.  It's either that or risk needing I.v. Iron..... Nooooo thanks lol

Call your doctor and ask...if you get the wrong advice on this forum you might be taking in too much or too little iron, so this is definitely one for your OB.
