im 2 cm now and havent lost my plug, i never lost it with my first 2 either.
Don't worry, things will happen when they're ready. I wasn't dilated, effaced nothing until just a few days before I went into labour at 39 weeks. It can happen overnight.
I am not sure what my status is & I am prego with twins. I have my C section scheduled for 10.28 but dont believe i lost my plug yet. I am going to OB tomorrow so wondering how the visit will go.
I had never lost my mucous plug with my first 3 pregnancies. But with my little Max I had dialted to 3 cm and then lost my mucous plug over a 4 day period. On the 4th day my water broke.
When I was pregnant 6 years ago, I never lost my mucous plug. I didn't even go into labour on my own. My son was 9 days late. He never even dropped! I had to be induced twice because the first one didn't take. My OB had to rupture my membranes.
So there is not just 1 correct answer. Your body will do what it wants to do.
Good luck and hope you get to see your little one soon :)
Thanks ladies! I feel like more should be happening but I know every pregnancy is different. I have extreme amounts of pressure in my cervix, I can barely walk he is so low. I have an appointment today but I'm not sure if she will check me since I was just checked last week and was only 1/2 cm.
Thanks for the help!!
I don't remember losing my plug on my daughter never had a show or anything. 1 day after my due date my waters broke. But on this baby I think I'm losing it bit by bit.
Not everyone looses it. My dr pulled mine when I was starting to dialate. Not everyone breaks there own water either. You arent asking a stupid question its diffrent foe everyone.
They say online that some people never lose their mucous plug or some people do without even noticing... I dont think you necessary need to lose it in order to dilate or thin out.. I know i read that present of a clear stretchy discharge can be a sign that your cervix is thinning out even if your not dilating...
Also keep in mind that some people dont dilate a whole lot until they are actually in labor so they may not lose their mucous plug until well into the process.
As you know this is all confusing to me because there doesnt seem to be one clear way for things to happen.. aka some people have bloody show, some people dont but they still go on to have the baby...
