I started having sex again when my baby was just about two weeks old..and I had no problem with it, matter of fact I agree with the above statement by baby_edgar. it may be TMI but I believe sex is way better now!  however I do suggest lube. so it just depends on when you personally feel ready.

Everyone has a general Idea .. 6 weeks. Personally I think it should be 6 weeks or until your healed or stopped bleeding OR feel up to it and aren't worried about doing any damage (if you had a csection or episiotomy)

Personally... after my Csect, DH and I made it 9 days. We went REALLY slow and gentle (sorry TMI) and used a condom each time we did do anything... it worked fine for us.

it also depends on how your birth went. like if you had to be cut or if you had a tear. i had to be cut right through so me and my husband waited until my 6 week check up and we were given the ok by the doctor. i have to say TMI but it was great and i have to say sex had been better since having my daughter and i am in the mood more now then before i fell pregnant.

Also if your not planning on having another baby anytime soon make sure your use some type of birth control.

Good luck and i hope all goes well!

We started at 5 weeks and it wasn't painful at all :o) It just all depends on how you heal

They say 6 weeks but most women heal long before then. I think if you feel up to it, one week won't make a difference!

They say 6 weeks, but it's up to you and how you feel.  With my daughter, I had sex 3 days after, you'll likely need lube, so it doesn't hurt.  With my son, it was 5 days after...

So Take my advice and use LUBE, because they tell you that after having a baby, it'll be dry and it can get really uncomfortable.  So go at your own pace!

usually it is 6 weeks... And I personally think if your body is healing nicely that it's up to you on how you feel if you want to try.. But, I will say that if you do decide to have sex now and it starts to hurt, to stop. You don't want to cause yourself pain! :)

you should have gotten a discharge paper with how long your doctor wants you to wait. i think with me it was 6 weeks and i had sex after 6 weeks and i felt HORRIBLE. it was great trust me but right after, i felt so sick, my lower stomach hurts, after an hour it went away but i felt so bad. someone said it happened to them too that one time but if you feel healed i say go for it
