That happened to me once...it was an ept....I took 2 tests from them and they were both defective...on one there were no lines and on the other there was one line bu it was like sideways....I called them and they said that the sideways one was a neg. result and the other was defective and to ship it back...they gave me a 2 dollar coupon...WOOOEEEE....lol...I WAS pregnant by the way...Good luck to you!

Did you ever take the second one? I think it's still too early to test but I know you can't wait! :)

Yeah, the water could dilute the HCG. You really don't have to wait for first morning urine. Just hold your pee in for an hour (at the least 45 minutes) and you should get an accurate result. You don't have to hold it in all night. I am telling you this because I give preg. tests to women all the time at a clinic.

NO dont drink more water! Take it in the morning for the first pee!. Drinking more water can alter the results my making the hcg levels less notable! So just do it in the morning and hopefully the other isnt defective!
