Thank you for your input. With all the information out there it's hard to tell whats the truth and whats not.
just wanted to add a lil comment to what kerriekab said about temping...as far as my knowledge goes temperature spike indicates that ovulation has already occured and not that it is to occur in 24-48 hrs....and also normal temping wont count....you have to take your basal body temperature first thing in the morning....just google BBT while trying to conceive and you will get lots of info...and also keep an eye on your cervical mucus....
I know its a drill to get pregnant...even we are trying since 3 months and they say that its normal to get pregnant in a year...so i guess our 3 months of trying are just fine....don't lose hope and don't stress yourself over it...all the best
Hi. I know it can all be very confusing!!!! The thing to remember is that most people ovulate 14 days BEFORE your period is due. If u have a 28 day cycle then it would be around day 14. The best chance of conceiving is around this time. Sperm can live inside the body for 3-5 days but u can only get preggers up to 48 hours after ovulation. So the best time to start is 5 days before ovulation and carry on 2 days after.
Some people say the best thing to do is have sex every 2-3 days because then you should definitely hit ur ovulation date!!! Don't have sex EVERY day though unless you know you are ovulating. The quality of sperm decreases the more a man ejaculates. So when u know ur coming up to ur trying time dont do it for a few days before hand so the ejaculation if full of swimmers!!! hehe!
Also, you shouldn't go by ovulation calculators. There are just the normal standards and not everyone is normal! U may ovulate earlier or later than normal!!! You should try and chart your body temp every day, when you see a spike in temperature you will ovulate 24-48 hours later so the temp spike is a good time to have sex! Also you can buy ovulation kits that you can use to confirm your ovulation from the temp spike. U can get them pretty cheap off ebay actually.
Good luck though and lots of baby dust to you! Hope this helped!!!
