c-section at 36 weeks due to preeclampsia. I hated it, but i think that's partly because I was so sick at that point i could barely stay awake. Spinal was a breeze- a little weird but quick and easy with no lasting effects. I had a reaction on the table, but the anesthesiologist injected something into my IV and the rest is a foggy daze. In recovery, i didn't really care that I had a baby and that makes me sad. The first night was rough because I had them very carefully monitoring me, checking my urine, levels, BP, etc... every hour. I think this is not typical but rather due to the preeclampsia. I had to have magnesium sulfate for my BP and that has its own side effects too.
But... it couldn't have been THAT bad since I'm doing it again...
I had my son vaginally with no pain meds. I was really happy with the experience I had and can't wait to do it all over again! I was in labor for 13 hours due to his head coming down crooked. When he came out he looked like a conehead but it was on the side of his poor little head. (he laso had a blood blister from all the trauma) But other than that, he was perfect!! I pushed for 1 hour and 20 min. The pain was only really intense the last 5 hours or so. I would have had him sooner if he was coming down the birth canal correctly, so I wonder how this experience will be. Birth is amazing and once you see your little baby, all that pain from pushing and the contractions just disappear! It truly is a miracle!
I was induced at 38 weeks I think lol and I was in labor for 31 hours it is a long story, I pushed for 2 hours and my son was to big, about 1:00 am I had a C-section due to the size of my son he weighed 9 pounds 7 ounces. Everything healed back good lol
and having aubree vaginally was the best experience ever!!! i was so proud of myself after the delivery and i was coherent for all of it.. they actually put a mirror down there and i got to see my precious daughter coming out... it was such an awesome experience.
i was induced at 37 weeks due to high blood pressure.. i labored 3 days.. ugh! they started me on cervadil vaginally with no progress waited that out for a day has small contractions.. doc was gonna break my water but it broke on its own... started on pitosin had aubree 23 hours later... i got the epidural... pushed for 3 hours and had to hav e an epistomy due to aubrees large head then she was here almost 24 hours after my water broke.. if i wouldnt have had her by the 24th hour i would have had to have a c section due to exposure and risk of infection. next birth i will not let them induce me unless is absolutely necessary... being induced is so much rougher than going naturally..
i was induced 4 days after my due date my son head didnt wantto drop so i had to get a c-section i dont mean to scare you but it was the worst pain i ever had i felt everything until the drugged me up and i could really get to see my son when he came out and i couldnt feel anything anymore which was a goodthing cause ithurt but i have to get another c-section i am not looking forward to it
TJ~ Stat Csection at 35w5d due to no fluid. Had a spinal. He was born at 4:44pm, I WALKED to the NICU at 8AM the next morning. They wound up putting me on Norco (2x stronger than normal vicoden) due to my high tolerance and extreme pain. I also had to have 2 100mg shots of Demerol. Healing went great and I was up and about 3 weeks later doing normal stuff. Even lifting. (I know I know, I'm not supposed to but we were moving and I didn't have much choice!)
1st DS 1 day before due date labored 6 hours with an epidural. 2nd DS 2 weeks early labored for 3 hours without epidural. 3rd DS 2 days late according to u/s, 5 days early according to my LMP labored 2.5 hours with epidural. Only tore alittle with last baby had a stich or two and he was the smallest. My first 2 had huge heads and I didnt tear at all, lol:)
Was induced 1 week early, do to Gestational Diabetes. 1 day on the drip, no contractions but did dilate 1 cm. 2nd day started on drip, 3 hours later finally a 4, broke my water, major contractions for 3 hours, finally got epi, after being stuck in the spine 4 times (the anesthesiologist sucked). Progress stopped. Had C-section daughter just turned 2 Friday. Ready for number 2, am in the 2WW right now. Will definitively go for another C-Section.
Forgot to share my sis's c-section experience. Not meant to scare you. She was in labour 14 hours before being sent for an emerg c-section. Epidural didn't quite work. She could feel them cutting her. Doc didn't listen as apparently they gave her more than enough. She ended up hemorraging. They had to give her 4 units of blood and alot of morphine. She was known as morphine face. Very swollen but alive. It was pretty scarey for a day or so. She, to this day, does not remember Anden's arrival. She was completely out of it for a day and a half or so. Couldn't even hold him until the second day as she was too weak and was going in and out of consciousness. Up side was that she recovered quickly at home.
My first experience was vaginal. In labour 23 hours. I went 12 hours before requesting an epidural (to hopefully get some rest). Epidural only lasted 4 hours. Pushed for 3 hours (in every position imaginable). Vacuum was used as well as the forceps to get her out. Very close to an emergency c-section but am glad that she made it out on her own.
thats how mine was joy- my c-section was great. not like some of the horror stories i hear.
I wanted to share a c-section story. I have a friend who just gave birth. Her body just refused to go into labor, she was passed due, her doctor wanted to induce. She decided to go straight to c-section and she healed wonderfully and had no complaints! It was a perfect birth experience for her.
1st Labor- went in not wanting meds, started begging for meds, gave birth within 3 1/2 hours of water being broken! Went really, really well.
2nd Labor- was able to handle the pain better but still opted for meds so I could rest... about 3 hours after water being broken I gave birth. Another uneventful, beautiful birth.
well i had my first son sept 12, 2007 and i was induced due to a week overdue and high pb...ugh it S u cked...:( well had my water broken at 12, put on the drip at 4pm...no pain meds until 830 when i was BEGGING for a csection...they refused so gave me a epidural around 845ish..was working by 915...i was 3cm 75% effaced(35 weeks i was 1 cm 25% effaced and 37 weeks 2 cm effaced 50%) sooo you see not much progress...at 10pm i had this awful urge to push nurse told me that it was impossible.. that i wouldnt be having this baby until 3am...so i tried holding it it..it hurt alot.. then at 11 she came to empty my bladder and couldnt so she went to get a nurse for help...nurse checked me and i was fully dilated.. at 1120 i was told small pushes to crown and 1140 i was brought to delivery rooma nd my son was born at 1146:) i ripped upwards towards my clitoris and it sucked but i had sex 4 weeks after ds was born...sooo it was good
i just had my first child. i lucke dout, they took him via c-section before i had even one contraction when i was 38 weeks cause i had a-typical preclampsia. but i thought the c-section was not bad at all. the next day after when you are on the morphicne is rough cause that med is strong amd makes you very sleepy and not with it but once they tstop it and you go to pain pills, it is fine. i was up walkign around no problems. if i have another baby i will def have anotehr c-section.
1st **pregnancy, induction due to high blood preassure, 14 hours of labor and little progress, Emergency C-section due to baby heartbeat declining, (he healthy 3 yr old boy) 11/05
2nd** Labor for 2 days at home, hospital was 5 cm dialated, but chose the 2nd C-section... (If i could go back I would of had a vaginal birth) but was so worried from my first I just wanted the baby to safe. (another healthy boy) 06/07
