anyone else's dog act funny about their belly?

Okay, I'm 33 weeks, almost 34 now.. And a few weeks ago, one of my dogs, who never really liked me much, started getting more affectionate toward me, and for a while, he would lay his head against my belly while I was petting him.. Well now when I'm standing up, or sitting in a chair or something, he'll stand up and paw at my belly.. sort of like a cat does when they sharpen their claws on furniture, if you know what I mean..? Has anyone else had this happen to them before, or something similar? It's sort of starting to hurt though because my belly is getting more sensative since the baby's getting bigger.  But I was just curious if you have any stories about your dogs or cats while you were/are pregnant?

huh, I guess some animals take it differently.. I've mostly noticed animals getting more affectionate more than anything, that is interesting!

my SIL had a house cat and it was the most loveable cat until she got pg. right after she set up the baby's room the cat started using it has his own personal litter box, whenver she would walk by him or get close to him he would try to punce on her and bite her, he got so bad that she had to put him outside! a few months after she had my nephew she allowed him to come back in, but he wanted nothing to do with the baby and tried to get alot of attention, he was like that up until he passed!

both my dog and cat went off me during my pregnancy but a week before i went into labour both my dog ans cat were all over me it was very comforting to have them around, but besides that the only other thing is that my dog got really overprotective of me and she is a little tenterfield terrior (mini Foxie) i couldn't take her anywhere cause she would try to go for people

Yes, it's good to see you on the forum again!

My dog has started to burrow under the covers at night since I was like 16 weeks. And he pushes his face against my stomach and falls asleep. Dogs know.

And my cat, well we're in the same boat.. she's pregnant too!!

Heyyyyy you!!! I've been wondering about you! Holy ****! 34 weeks?!?! Where the hell....What have you been up to?

Sorry but I don't really have an answer to the dog thing...they say they have a 6th sense...or they can even act differently before you find out your pregnant.

I noticed when I was pregnant with my second that my dog (A rottwiller) would try to sit ontop of me!!! LOL, she is a very big girl but always thought of herself as a lap dog!! I have some very cute pictures of her licking my belly:)
Now with this pregnancy we have a new siamese cat. She is the most gentle cat ever. She is very attached to me though! My hubby gets so mad because she wont sit next to him. He will try and forse her to stay next to him, but she bolts, lol.She follows me EVERY WHERE!! Even the bathroom! She lays by my head at night and cuddles with me while im watching tv:)
I really think that animals know more than we think:)
