I place a pillow behind my back when I sleep so if I roll on my back I end up slightly tilted. That has eased some anxiety about sleeping in my back

My doctor told me not to worry if I wake up on my back - while you're asleep, if you are restricting blood flow from having rolled into your back, you're body will sense it and you'll roll over in your sleep.

As long as your not sleeping on the floor, you're fine to sleep on your back. Your body it's curved with the mattress, so you're not flat, which is the actual concern with restricting blood flow. You can slightly prop yourself over with a pillow if you're concerned. I'm 32 weeks and I'm always on my back.
