Very normal, when I was pregnant with my first I  was in denial about being pregnant (I hadn't taken a test yet and I was late) but thought I'm cramping so I'm going to start soon till my sister said it's normal to cramp cuz my uterus was stretching and to take a test and sure enough I was pregnant lol so don't stress girly totally normal

I'm 5 weeks and also having cramps off and on, and bad lower back pain. Everyone I have talked to says this is normal, but it is hard to sleep and I am miserable.

I am also 5 weeks and having cramps on and off. They are sometimes mild but at other times very sharp. My lower back hurts a lot also. I'm not bleeding at all but just really worried that this isn't a good sign.

Not unless you have heavy bleeding with the cramps. It's normal to cramp in early pregnancy. Your uterous is stretching.
