4 weeks, had Caesar Dressing and worried

I am a first time Mom and just found out that I'm pregnant. I'm only 4 weeks and have been reading some info and did not realize that you should not have Caesar dressing because of the raw egg that may be in it. I feel so stupid that I didn't know this because over the past week I have probably consumed Caesar dressing three times...bc I just love Caesar salad. On some websites it said that dressing from chain restaurants and grocery stores are usually fine, that it's the homemade dressings to worry about. However, one of the times I had Caesar salad was at a restaurant that makes their own dressing. I'm so worried that this may cause harm, especially since I'm so newly pregnant. Can anyone help put my mind at ease? If I had Caesar dressing with a raw egg in it once could I have caused harm?

Hi
I don't think it would be a huge risk. I'm a first time mum as well and I actually found out last week I was 5 weeks pregnant and I was worried about all the foods I consumed but the doctor said should be fine. Hope this helps =)

I figured out that i'm pragnent when i was in week 15... My gall bladder was removed in week 10. i had two operations under general anaesthetic and a x-ray... The baby is fine!

Raw eggs can be its not that they are in general dangerous.

For raw eggs, the real danger is that you may get salmonella--which is a bacterial infection. It's food poisoning! The concern is that pregnant women have somewhat weakened immune systems, so they're more vulnerable IF they happen to eat something with that bacteria.

So by themselves, raw eggs aren't a problem. There is just a VERY SMALL chance they would be carrying that bacteria, and that bacteria would be the problem.  But the likelihood of that is practically zero...you would have been hearing about it in the news and such! Also, you'd be showing obvious symptoms by now, which you haven't mentioned, so you're fine.

So you're fine! The raw egg itself won't hurt your baby!

Also, I'm 2 days away from week 5! I'm nervous and excited and a little worried about the baby too! We should make a group for ladies in week 4 or 5!
