40 weeks and 3 days with second child! Need help!!

Yesterday I had my membranes stripped, its been over 24 hours.  All day I've been losing parts of my mucus plug and some of it even has some blood in it.  I'm 3 centimeters dilated and 80% effaced.  Has anyone been in a similar situation where they went into labor soon after they had this procedure done?.  I don't want to be induced!!!!

If your baby is healthy and there is no medical reason to be induced then tell them you want to go into labor on your own. I mean there comes a point where baby needs to come out but you are only 3 days past. Not 2 weeks! (Like me with my first) I ended up getting a 1/4 pill of cytotech inserted and that's all they did to kick start labor.. Apparently I was having contractions every 5-7 minutes when I got to the hospital anyways. But again I was almost 2 weeks past my due date. I think you are probably pretty close tho as your body has already started the process. If you make it to your next appt ask for another sweep and tell then you want to wait.

with my last baby my membrains were swept. the next day I was suposed to be enduced. well the next day when I got my call to go in I had to get a new car seat. so I whent for a quick shop. while I was at walmart I started early labor.  I got to the hospital.  they were going to do the balloon technique, which could take a week. when the doctor checked my cervix and plans changed quickly.  instead she gave me another membrain sweep and put me on the drip. things whent quickly. infact baby almost ripped through my cervix. doctor gut pushed it aside and baby just poped out.

things will be just fine. just do whatvthe doctor tells you. good luck momma
