miscarriage?

So I just found out last week that I'm pregnant.  My first appointment is on Thursday.  I called my doctor this morning because I noticed some slight bleeding.  They said to go to the ER right away.  In the emergency room after drawing blood, doing ultrasounds,  and a pelvic exam they sent me home saying that I'm probably having a miscarriage and they will want to do more blood tests on Thursday to be sure.  I'm not bleeding a lot at all and I'm not cramping or in any pain whatsoever.  Has anyone else had this happen? Could they be mistaken?

Thanks. I hope that's not the case too. I guess we will know for sure on Thursday. Hearing news like that was pretty heart breaking.
