I learned in childbirth classes not to pump at least 2 weeks after you have the baby.
You can breastfeed immediately after giving birth :)
You can breastfeed right after baby :) first the baby will get colostrum golden milk " and it's very good for baby. Keep on breastfeeding ur milk supply will come in. :) the more u breast feed.
I know u can feed the baby right after they are born... but I just want to pump. I plan on going Back to work and I dont want it to be hard for the baby to transition from nipple to bottle. Just want to start with bottle but use breast milk instead of formula.
If you're just wanting to pump they will have you start trying to pump fairly soon after birth. It would help your milk supply to try to breast feed until your milk fully comes in but its a personal choice so its your decision! Just make sure your nurses know your intentions so they can help make sure it happens for you :)
Just dont over pump, the more u do the more milk ur body will make and more often. Only pump the same times u would feed the baby. I only pumped with my second, breastfed and pumped my first and third and plan on doing the same with this one. Good luck!
It is ok to pump after giving birth...I breastfed all 4 of my babies and will do the same when this one arrives..it will not harm you however it may be a little painful depending on how engorged your breast are at the time..on the plus side it's usually not too bad..Oan I'd still recommend doing both breast and bottle I've found that doing both from day 1 made it easy to transition from breast to bottle but also enjoy the benefits of bonding and closeness of breastfeeding.Remember breastmilk is the bestmilk!!
With my first i wanted to breast feed him but he wss in the NICU for 5 days with my second one i latched him onto my boob right after he was born so it gave my milk a chance to arrive cuz when u latch bb on right away it sends a signal to keep making milk otherwise you'll dry up pretty quick n sometimes if u pump only u may dry up n ir gives u that special bond with the bb!
Yes. Pump within hours of birth! My son wouldn't latch at first so ended up getting colostrum that i manually squeezed out, then milk as soon as it came in. Pumping helped to stimulate the milk flow.
I must say i was totally relieved when I could stop pumping. Direct breastfeeding is less labour intensive. By a country mile.
