Bell's Palsey :(

So I'm just about 37 weeks and yesterday had to go the the er. My husband thought it was a stroke, come to find out its Bell's Palsey. Come to find out some women in their third trimester come down with this and are stuck for a few weeks-months. As depressed as it makes me I have a good support system which is helping. Anyone else is same position? And had anyone just had the flu shot? Now that I had it I look up side effects of flu shot, bell's Palsey. So wondering if there is a correlation between flu shot and pregnant woman?

My cousin had bells palsy with her pregnancy. There really wasn't anything she could do until the baby was delivered. Once he came it naturally went away. It just took time.

i dont know how open minded your drs. may be but ive heard acupuncture helps speed  up recovery for the physical symptoms i know they also usual prescribe anti viral meds but being preggers i dont know if we can take them. and generally bells palsy is now thought to be caused a viral infection so i could see the link between the flu shot and your symptoms. hope it clears up soon! good luck mama

Thanks for the response, if for sure isn't fun and we thought same thing. Positive note is it wasn't a stroke but still not something that is enjoyable at all. Hoping for a quick recovery!

I've gotten my flu shot every year, even with being pregnant and never had side effects other than tenderness where shot was. Good luck my fiances father just had bells palsy a few months ago scared us thinking he had a stroke.

Thanks for the repsonse, I was scared to get the shot in fear of getting the flu and now I have this.   I'm seeing a neurologist in the morning so hopefully I get some answers.

I haven't had bells palsy but I've seen people with it. I'm now curious if there is a correlation between the two though. I haven't gotten my flu shot and don't think I will because I always get the flu right after. They say it's impossible but I only get the flu after I get the shot so. Hopefully it eases up soon!!!! Good luck on finding your answer!
